Blogger->Setting->Publishing
In this page you can edit your site name hosted in blogspot. In my opinion, you shouldn’t change the name unless you’ve really decided to change it or you have just started your blog.
Reason why it shouldn’t be changed
This is my personal experience, but it happens a lot when you change the name. Google will take some times to re-index your site. One of the example is like this :
- You use the “luna.blogspot.com” as your site.
- After a week, all your pages have been indexed in Google.
- You change your site name into “lunaria.blogspot.com”
- Some of the people type the search query and your site appear in the first page. They click on it is brought to nowhere.
With this to say, you have lost one visitor who would like to visit your site. So don’t change it frequently unless you really want to change it (Sounds funny).
Blogger->Setting->Basic
Title : This is where your blog title filled.
Description : Do you still remember the description you have written before? Write it in this box.
Add your blog to our listings? : Like what it has explained, choose “Yes” to get your blog listed in the Blogger listing page.
Let search engines find your blog? : Choose “Yes”, it will let your blog listed in many search engine including Google.
Show Quick Editing on your Blog? : With this enable, you can edit your post directly from your blog. It means you can go to the edit page when you are viewing your blog. Your reader won’t see this button even if you choose yes.
Show Email Post links?: When you enable this feature, your reader can easily send your post to their destination e-mail. This is where the sign will be shown if you enable this.
Adult Content? : You know it. The warning before viewing your blog if you have an extra-ordinary content and pics. Choose “No” to simplify things.
GLOBAL SETTING
Show Compose Mode for all your blogs? : With this you can write in HTML and then converted into post. Most of us write in that. And remember to enable it. Here is the HTML mode when you enable this setting.
Enable transliteration? : I’m not very sure what it is, maybe some Hindi translation enabled? I disable it.
E-Mail Subscription Page
Yahoo ! Wait… I’m not promoting Yahoo. But since you come to this page, it means you want to subscribe. Thank you very much, if you don’t know how to use RSS or perhaps RSS fetcher, then subscribe by email is the best way.
